DESCRIPTION:Reconstructing the Tel Dan Inscription and Early Israelite History\nThe Tel Dan Inscription gave the first archaeological evidence attesting to a kingdom associated with the “house of David.” But the stele is broken and incomplete. How do we join the pieces? Can we fill in some of the gaps? In this talk\, Professor William M. Schniedewind of the University of California\, Los Angeles\, explains how the Tel Dan Inscription must be reconstructed\, fills in some of its gaps\, and gives insights from the inscription into the early history of the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. \nThe event includes a lecture and time for a Q&A with Professor Schniedewind.
