DESCRIPTION:Our Ash Wednesday services are at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary on Wednesday\, February 18. Both services will include the imposition of ashes\, and the evening service will include a time of Holy Communion. Childcare is available at the 7 p.m. service for infants through preschool and an Ash Wednesday program for Elementary-aged children. \nAsh Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent\, a forty-day season of repentance\, fasting\, reflection\, and\, ultimately\, celebration of Christ’s resurrection. The 40-day period represents Christ’s time of temptation in the wilderness\, where he fasted and where Satan tempted him. Lent asks believers to set aside a time each year for similar fasting\, marking an intentional season of focus on Christ’s life\, ministry\, sacrifice\, and resurrection.
