about us
Christian Calendar promotes community in the Washington, DC area by gathering people of faith at Christian events.
The vision for the site comes from Nehemiah 4:19-20. The Israelites had returned from exile and were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. Nehemiah told them:
“The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!”
The logo for this site is a trumpet because this calendar is more than information. It’s a call to gather.
We want Christian events in Washington, DC to be well-supported, well attended, and a sign of the unity of believers in this city.

What we believe
We are interdenominational and nonpartisan. We are committed to:
- The authority of the Word of God–The Holy Bible,
- The Lordship of the Son of God–Jesus Christ,
- The work of the Spirit of God,
- The mission of the church of God.
- We believe that the Bible is our statement and standard for all belief, instruction, practice, and policy. We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
- We acknowledge the historical roots of Christianity that have shaped the theology and orthodoxy of our faith and use the Nicene and Apostles’ creeds as summaries of the gospel consistent with scripture.
- We affirm that God’s covenantal love and faithfulness are promised to and through Israel, and that God has revealed His character and purposes to the world through the Jewish people. We believe that the Church is grafted into the rich root of Israel, not replacing but joining in the Blessings of God’s covenant, and that Israel’s gifting and calling are irrevocable (Romans 11:29).
- We are committed to gathering together God’s people (Acts 2:1; Hebrews 10:25), partnering with ministries and churches (1 Corinthians 12:27), and telling others about Jesus with the good news of the gospel (Matthew 28:18-20).
